Parenting With the Brain in Mind
Ongoing Workshops
What follows is information about classes and workshops Dr. Bryson is currently or will soon be leading.

ReTHINKing  Discipline:
2 hour Workshop, Friday, December 12th  from 9:15-11:30

The goal of this workshop is to help us rethink we what know about discipline, based on new knowledge about the brain, AND to get some practical tools, phrases, and approaches to start using immediately.

In this workshop, I’ll address the discipline issues parents most often ask me about.  We’ll talk about how to make nurturing and authority go hand in hand, how to get our kids to listen better, and how best to respond to all types of misbehavior at every age.  We’ll talk about how to use new approaches to discipline that can help us get a more “thinking” response from our kids, maintain connection to our children, and lay the groundwork for optimal brain development.

$40/person in San Marino, CA.  To register:  RSVP via email to tina@tinabryson.com

“Mommy, Me, and Our Brains” Group:
First Friday of the Month from 12:00-1:30, San Marino (but our December meeting will be Dec. 12th)

Like in my other workshops, the goal will be to apply cutting-edge science to everyday parenting.  But we’ll do so in a fun and flexible atmosphere where we’ll actually be parenting alongside each other as we learn from one another.  I’ll model new ways to handle issues and to develop our little ones’ brains to the fullest.

This will be a topic-based, highly interactive class in which participants suggest issues to be addressed, such as discipline, sleep issues, brain development, and parenting struggles.  We’ll also use groundbreaking research to discuss and debunk common parenting myths that continue to be passed down.

Even though the title of the workshop is “Mommy, Me, and Our Brains,” please know that dads are welcome as well.

$25 per group meeting. To register:  RSVP via email to tina@tinabryson.com.

Monthly Support/Learning Group/Shared Consultation Time:
SECOND MONDAY OF THE MONTH from 9:30-11, Location:  Corner Bakery on South Lake, Pasadena.

This group will meet monthly and will be a topic-based, highly interactive class in which participants suggest issues to be addressed, such as motivating kids, building self-esteem, dealing with bullying, how some of the ways we praise our kids is bad, or other parenting struggles.  I will bring new ideas from recent research to help us all stay up on the latest approaches and strategies.

The purpose of this time is for “shared consultation” to talk about and get advice on any issues you need help with, to support each other, and to have stimulating discussions on recent studies/ideas.  Please let me know if there are any topics you’d like for me to address.

$25 per group meeting, paid at each group.  There’s no commitment necessary.  You just come to the times you can make it.  PLEASE EMAIL TINA IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.

Our first group will be Monday, December 8th.  And if you know anyone else who’s interested, please invite them!  (This is a new group, so if you’re already in the other monthly group, there is no need to reply.)

A note from Tina:
Many of you have been asking about my next round of classes; I’ll be starting those up in January or February.  I’ll send you an email about those in a few weeks.

As always, check my website for more information, and please feel free to pass this information on to anyone you think might be interested.   And if there’s something you’d like for me to offer, please let me know.  All of the options above are a result of requests from people.
